Ibenez Family

I think every mom can sympathize with the Ibenez Family.  They wake up in the morning all ready to take some family pictures for their Christmas cards, and their two little ones are sick!  Poor Sofia and Jacob were sick as could be... but the shoot must go on!  Jacob powered through and had fun, however little Sofia needed encouragement from some bubbles.  When all is said and done, Sofia is cute even when she is pouting =)

This one just makes me giggle!  Look at that little face on Jacob... what is he scheming up?

Beautiful Bridal Shower

You could feel the love for Erin in the air as you entered the room.  It was shown in all the amazing attention to detail and the expression on friends and families faces. There is only one word to describe this bridal shower... beautiful!

afternoon at the park

What a fun afternoon at the park!  As you can see, Tony and Kristie have a BEAUTIFUL family =)  It was so fun to see Nick and Bella snuggle and play with their little brother Mason.  The best part is that they are expecting another little bundle of joy this Spring!  That's right... we should be seeing pregnancy photos in the near future!

Old Hollywood Engagement Shoot

What a fun afternoon!  Mari and Nathan are getting married next July and couldn't wait to celebrate with an old Hollywood theme photo shoot!  We headed down to the Farmer's Market to achieve that retro look.  They were up for anything and had a blast playing it up for the camera.  I can't wait to see how cute their wedding is going to be!

Under the Pier

What an awesome morning under the pier in Manhattan Beach!  I first shot Pam and Moe two years ago to celebrate their engagement.  I was then honored to shoot their amazing wedding!  Now I can't believe that I am editing their family photos!  I love that I have been able to witness and document each of these milestones in their lives.  Little Amina is just so cute!  Even through 3 outfit changes she managed to stay happy and eager to play...

Well, almost always happy! =)

adventures in the "studio"

I recently had a few requests for a traditional studio look.  For those that know me, that is not really my thing.  There is nothing that can compare to natural light!  But I thought, "hey, it wouldn't hurt to try something new... right?".  So I asked one of my wonderful friends to borrow her lighting and background kit, and had my kids and niece and nephew goof around in front of the camera for me.  I really didn't like anything in color, so everything ended up in black and white or desaturated.  I found that I liked them looking a little bit blown out.  Well, needless to say more practice is necessary!  Cute kids though... right?

Cotton Candy and Beach Balls!

Who could ask for more.... cotton candy, beach balls and super fun peeps like Erin and Ernie!  75 degree's and overcast at the Santa Monica Pier.  It was a photographer's dream!  I'm proud to say that Erin is one of my best friends, and she has found and equally wonderful guy!  We had so much fun goofing around and enjoying the weather.  It wasn't till the end of the shoot that Ernie let me in on a little secret... he hates cotton candy!

Hello Blog!

This is an exciting new beginning for me to share an aspect of my life that makes me so happy!  Photography was always a hobby for me, but as milestones in my life have come and gone... marriage, home ownership, children, my hobby has turned into a passion!  There is something special about documenting life.  Time passes so quickly (just like mom said it would), but with photography it's like I'm able to capture and save those amazing feelings or moments forever!  Over the years I have been able to capture moments in the lives of others, and have been able to turn a hobby into a career.  How lucky am I?! With this blog I hope to share and chronicle my journey through photography.

Ignore the grammar (I'm not a writer)... enjoy the journey!
